The 17^th senior officials meeting of the EMG took place  in New York on 19 September 2010. The meeting was hosted by UNDP.The meeting was co-chaired by Ms. Helen Clark Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme and host of the meeting and Mr. Achim Steiner, Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme and Chair of the Environment Management Group.

Report Summary

The seventeenth meeting of the senior officials of the Environment Management Group was held on the margins of the sixty-sixth session of the General Assembly in New York on Monday, 19 September 2011. The meeting was hosted by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The meeting was comprised of two segments as presented in the agenda (see annex I in the full report): a technical segment, at which participants considered a progress report on ongoing work and suggested directions for further work; and a senior officials segment, at which participants considered broader policy issues and actions recommended during the technical segment. The meeting was attended by representatives of 33 member agencies. Background documents are available below
